Q & A
What are the requirements to graduate and receive certification?
To graduate, you must maintain at least 95% attendance throughout the course. Attendance is mandatory to receive your certificate.
A final exam is held at the end, but it mainly serves as a learning review — your participation and presence matter most.
After completion, you’ll receive your On Roots Yoga School certificate (printed and digital upon request).
To register with Yoga Alliance U.S., you need a 200-hour certificate from a registered school.
There’s no time limit for registering your certificate — it never expires, and you can do it whenever you’re ready.
Are beginners welcome, or do I need prior yoga experience?
We welcome participants of all levels! While this course is open to beginners, it is recommended that you have some prior experience with yoga. A basic familiarity with the foundational poses and practice will help you feel more comfortable and get the most out of the training. You don’t need to be an expert, but a consistent personal practice beforehand is encouraged.
If I don’t plan to teach or build a career as a yoga instructor, can I still participate in the course?
Absolutely! This training is designed not only for those aspiring to teach but also for anyone who wants to deepen their personal practice. Whether or not you intend to pursue a career in teaching, you will gain valuable insights, enhance your yoga practice, and develop a deeper understanding of movement, breath, and mindfulness.
Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes, we do offer flexible payment plans to make the course more accessible. Here’s an example of a payment plan:
– Deposit upon registration: €700
– March 1st: 1st instalment €1000
– May 1st: 2nd instalment €1000
– July 1st: remaining balance.
The full amount is payable no later than 60 days
prior to the start of the course (September 5th). Participants will receive reminder emails
one week prior to each due date.
What is the refund and cancellation policy?
The deposit for the course is non-refundable. However, if you need to cancel your registration, the remaining balance may be refunded depending on the timing of your cancellation. We encourage you to review the full details of our refund and cancellation policy, which can be found in this file
How do I get to Koh Tao?
The course takes place at Baan Talay, located on the stunning island of Koh Tao in Thailand. Here are how to get there
- By plane from Bangkok to Koh Samui airport (USM) (recommended) then take a ferry about 1.5-2 hours.
- By plane from Bangkok to Surat Thani airport (URT). Surat Thani is the province on the mainland. It’s a bit cheaper to fly compared to Koh Samui but the boat ride is longer -around 4 hours.
- Take a train or bus from Bangkok to Chumphon, followed by a ferry to Koh Tao (around 2 hours by ferry from Chumphon)
- On your arrival day, taxis from the pier to Baan Talay are arranged by the resort at four different times throughout the day. We’ll do our best to group you together, as most of you will be arriving on the same boats.
On your departure day, we’ll also arrange taxis from Baan Talay back to the pier for anyone leaving the island.
What are the checkin and checkout times?
Check-in begins at 2 p.m. on your arrival day, September 5. If you arrive earlier, feel free to leave your luggage at the reception and unwind in the common areas — the restaurant and lounge are great spots to relax after your journey.
On departure day, October 5, check-out is at 11 a.m. You’re more than welcome to stay a little longer in the shared spaces if you’d like to enjoy a final coffee, meal, or just soak in the atmosphere before heading off.
